Photo Competition Rules
Members Qualifications:
The Club Print Committee will judge all new members’ qualifications
and place them in either the Advanced or Beginners group. The Committee
will judge new members by their photography experience, and photography
education, type of equipment owned, years in photography as a hobby
or business, and viewing sample photographs taken by the new member.
Consideration will also be taken as to the members desire to be installed
into a group higher then the print committee has placed them. This shall
take place in the month of January of each year. No member can hold
two different group classifications at the same time.
Description of Prints for Submittal:
All prints submitted shall have been taken within the last 4 years.

For the Beginner Category
-
Use of Heavy Photoshop will be allowed and
is encouraged in the “Open” category only.
“Heavy Photoshop is defined by “changing settings, layers,
taking away or adding objects, excessive cloning or changing colors,
HDR and other post processing elements that have major impact on
the composition.”

In the “Assigned” and “Safari”
categories only “Basic Photoshop” will be permitted.
“Basic Photoshop” is defined as “using cropping,
dodging and burning, saturation, contrast, and sharpening, basic
spot healing and limited cloning.

The normal monthly competitions will be of prints only, unless the membership
is notified of interclub competitions. Each month’s competition
will have an assigned and open category. Members can enter up to two
8x10 or 8.5x11 prints in both the assigned and open competitions and
up to two 8x10 or 8.5x11 prints in the “Safari” competition.
Assignment themes for the year will be selected by a vote of the print
Committee in December of each year.
The individual photographers shall choose their subjects for the open
category. During interclub competitions different rules may apply.
All prints for competition and display must be 8x10 or 8.5x11 prints.
Printed boarders will be accepted. Prints that donot meet these qualifications
will be disqualified before judging. No print can have any identifying
marks on the judging side of the image surface.
All prints must be clearly marked on the back with:
1. Photographers Name
2. Title of print
3. Print Assignment, (Assigned or Open)
4. Photographers Rank, (Advanced or Beginners)
5. Place this information in the upper left corner on the reverse side
of the image, in this manner we will be able to tell which position
is up on your image.
How to submit your Images:
After signing in at our attendance table, please give your print (s)
to a member of the print committee and fill out our print entry form.
It is the responsibility of the members to do this.
If you know that you cannot attend the meeting we have competition please
submit your images to a committee member earlier.
No entries shall be submitted after 7:10 PM on the night of the competition.
